About the Academy
Hello and welcome to The Vale Primary Academy!!
Here at The Vale, we are extremely proud to be ‘an outstanding school that enables pupils to achieve exceptionally well academically and personally’ (Ofsted 2007) and to have ‘first-rate relationships between staff and pupils, an exciting curriculum and high quality teaching’.
The Vale Primary Academy caters for just over to two hundred and fifty boys and girls between the ages of three and eleven. The school is situated on the boundary of Knottingley and Ferrybridge, three miles from Pontefract and four miles from Castleford.
We have high expectations of all our children and learning takes place in a safe, exciting and purposeful way. Our teachers, aided by an effective team of support staff, plan and present lessons that are based on learning needs and using the most effective methods of teaching. Lessons and experieinces are meaningful, enjoyable and interesting, and promote personal development and achievement for all of our children.
Best practice and understanding next steps in learning is at heart of our pupils' success in learning. We are resilient in reflecting and improving in order to serve the needs of our children. We have strong links and work closely with stakeholders (Govenors, parents, community), and together we are dedicated to providing the best possible education for all our children.
The academy prides itself on making the most of everyday to support the development of the whole child and maximise outcomes for all our children. Why not have a look at our '101 Things' tab or even our 'Flipped Classroom' tab to see some of the exciting and effective ways that we maximise rates of learning?
